about

"As music is the poetry of sound, so is painting the poetry of sight, and the subject-matter has nothing to do with harmony or sound or of colour".

James Whistler

Using archive recordings discovered by artists Paul R Jones and Guy Mayman as a starting point, Torpa have created a sonic collage exploring the texture of analogue sounds, voices and melodies.

Originally composed especially for a one off live performance as part of the Datamosh exhibition at Oriel Gallery in Wrexham,UK on 7th February 2015. Each track has been re-arranged and expanded for this release.

“A film is - or should be - more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. The theme, what's behind the emotion, the meaning, all that comes later.”

Stanley Kubrick
